Photographer Pat Crutchfield brings her lifelong connection to the natural world into focus with Abstracts in Nature, a curated exhibit that showed in the E•Media Gallery during June of 2025. From tree bark to shifting light, the photographs highlight textures and shapes that encourage viewers to see familiar landscapes in new ways.
Pat reflects on how a Kodak Brownie camera sparked her love of photography, and how abstract work “shatters expectations” of what nature is supposed to look like.
