In addition to all of the amazing things we have to offer, we’re also a fully functioning art gallery! Our extensive lobby wall space (390 sq. ft.), and prime location on the first floor of the Eastworks building, lends itself well to featuring artwork from local artists. If you’re interested in an exhibition of your work, please contact info@easthamptonmedia.org.
Feel free to stop in during our regular business hours and check out our featured artist’s work.

Artist Statement-
I appreciate the opportunity to exhibit my photographs in the E-Media studios and want to acknowledge the important role E-Media has played and is playing in promoting the rich arts and cultural life within the city of Easthampton. The photographs on display include my earliest photos taken with slide film, the orchid and calla lily and my latest photos taken with a mirrorless digital camera, the great horned owls and the peacock.

Artist Bio-

Ellen Koteen
My first photography exhibit was in 2002 in the Hosmer Gallery of Forbes Library and I am grateful for all the opportunities I’ve had since then to show my work in both solo and group shows. During the process of photographing flowers, animals and landscapes, I experience joy and a sense of peace. Capturing their natural beauty in a photograph allows me to hold on to that joy and to share it with others. I delight in and am inspired by the detail, design and colors contained within nature. Photography has taught me to see light, shadows and nuances with a more vivid appreciation. In sharing my work, I strive to achieve what was so poignantly stated by Alfred Stieglitz: “What is of greatest importance is to hold a moment, to record something so completely that those who see it will relive an equivalent of what has been expressed.”
My earlier work focused on macro photography and the exquisite details of flowers. Since transitioning to the use of a digital camera, my work more often depicts landscapes and animals. Over the last several years, I have primarily focused on birds, farm animals and other animals I encounter in the natural world.
My studio is now located at Eastworks in Easthampton, having departed Cottage Street Studios after 18 years collaborating with the wonderful and talented group of artists sharing that building. I now have the privilege of collaborating with the artists in Eastworks.
I currently use an Olympus OM-D camera. My photographs have undergone little or no digital manipulation. In addition to large photographs, I have 70+ different photographic greeting cards, including a winter holiday series. I have recently used my photographs to create coasters which are available in my studio. I welcome visitors to my studio, both during open studios and by appointment. My greeting cards are also sold at the River Valley Market in Northampton.
